Deb Schweihs

Mrs. Debbie Schweihs is the Booster’s professional educators rep and currently teaches 5th grade beginning band at Mary Endres Elementary, Westwood Elementary, Dean Street Elementary, Greenwood Elementary, and Olson Elementary Schools.  She began her teaching career in 1991 and has taught in District 200 since 1998.  She has taught in Woodstock since 1998.  Mrs. Schweihs taught three years of middle and elementary band (as well as coached basketball) in Skokie School Distrcit 69 and taught four years of Grades 4-9 band (as well as coached field hockey and basketball) at Lake Forest Country Day School.  She has taught private saxophone/ clarinet/ flute lessons and was the pit orchestra director for D200 from 1991 to 2011.

Debbie completed her Bachelors degree from  Northwestern University in 1991, and her Masters Degree from Northern Illinois University in 2002, both in Music Education.

Currently Mrs. Schweihs plays regularly in the Hurricane Saxophone Quartet and Seymour’s Big Band (50’s style jazz band).  She also plays saxophone with the Woodstock City Band in the summer; plays woodwind instruments in community pit orchestra; teaches saxophone lessons; and helps out with her son’s sport’s teams.
