School: Northwood Middle School
Bob began his teaching career in August of 2012 in D200 and is the general music teacher and choral director at Mary Endres Elementary School. He is also the assistant choral director at Woodstock North High School, a position that he began in the winter of 2011. Prior to his full time teaching position in D200, Bob was a substitute teacher in District 200 and also in District 155 in Crystal Lake. He has also worked as a recording and live sound engineer in the greater Chicago area.
Bob studied Commercial Music at Millikin University in Decatur, IL and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 2007. He was granted his teaching certificate in K-12 music from Judson University in Elgin, IL in 2010. While still occasionally working in the audio industry, Bob has redirected his energy into audio consulting to improve the use of technology in the music classroom and performance hall for educational improvement.
While he loves listening to Baroque, Classical, and Romantic music, Bob truly enjoys singing Medieval and Renaissance motets and performing Alternative music from the mid to late 1990s. His favorite composers include Josquin des Prez, Orlando di Lasso, Thomas Tallis, and Frederic Chopin. Some of his favorite contemporary artists include Frank Turner, Sara Bareilles, Alice In Chains, Social Distortion, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Sheryl Crow.
