The D200 Music Boosters is a parent run organization whose sole purpose is to support and supplement the music programs and music students in all D200 schools.

  • Monthly Meetings

Monthly meetings are held during the school year, with the exception of December. Meetings are open to the public; we encourage and welcome new members!

  • Fundraising

The Boosters raise money in a variety of ways including the sale of: Booster Discount cards, Taffy Apples, Citrus, Poinsettias, Restaurant fundraisers, Egg My Yard, and Memberships. Some of these are district wide-fundraisers, others are facility specific.

  • Representation

Our elected officers include a president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. In addition to elected officers, the Boosters have many appointed committee chairpersons who head up fundraisers, publicity and other activities. Each school has at least one parent representative who provides valuable support to the music program at his or her school. These site reps directly support the music programs and students through organizing events, selling tickets, helping with fundraisers, signing off on purchase requests, representing their school at the monthly meetings, among other things.

  • Scholarships

We are particularly proud of the scholarships we provide to students to attend summer music camps and private lessons through the sale of our annual Booster Discount card. Last year alone, we helped over 50 middle and high school students develop their musical talents. We believe that these scholarship opportunities allow the students to return to their music programs in the fall, with new levels of confidence and leadership which further support the D200 Music Programs in which they are involved.

  • Student Support

In addition to supporting and supplementing the music programs of D200 we work to promote music in the community through recognition of our outstanding students. Each month, three students are selected by the teachers and are named Musicians of the Month. You can read all about them in the Woodstock Independent. We also work to bring musical performances to the community.

  • Program Support

Other fundraising monies have been used for these past purchases: Choral and band music to supplement the music library at each school; Music assemblies and field trips; Transportation to music events and performances; School instrument repair; Specialty/ supplemental instruments; Accompanists for student performances; and many more!
